Abstract: In this talk we are concerned with a reaction-diffusion equation coupled with a system of ordinary differential equations. This system of equations models pattern formation in developmental biology. The existence of continua of steady-states with jump discontinuity is proved and the stability of such steady-states is established. The results were obtained as a joint work with Steffen Haerting and Anna Marciniak-Czochra.
